Vice Captains' Corner
I the Vice-captain 2019 would like to thank everyone that supported me this year with the B Team, it’s been a wonderful year, it wasn’t always about winning it was about generating new teams and getting members playing in different events. Moving forward we have secured some B team matches next year, we have secured a Scratch league position in the league, and I have to go to the AGM for the west midland league.
The Aston wood golf club clique trophy played on Saturday won by L. Gumbleys squad defeating T. Deromes squad to a result of 6 - 4. Moving forward as it has been a success this year we will be introducing new teams new "Cliques" to take them on in 2020, other groups, juniors, AWOS even the ladies. If you would like more information about the Clique Trophy then please contact me.

Finally, we played the B Team trophy on Sunday and the results were as follows…
First - Kem Davis Second - Colin Crawshaw Third - Mark O'shea Fourth - Lee Gumbley
Congratulations Kem and thank you to all who took part in the event.
Best,
Lee Gumbley.

Doing the job…
The new ditch across the 9th and 18th is certainly doing the job and helping take the water off the course, as you can see this is Saturday morning and how much water is flowing away off the course.
Work has also started on reconstructing the fairway bunkers on the first hole, which will see a difference in shape, size and quality of the bunkers.

Presentation night 2019
This is a gentle reminder that the Presentation night 2019 is on Friday 15th November.
We will be presenting the winners, 2nd and 3rd places of the Trophy, cup and major competitions on this evening. Members who have won are required to attend to collect their prizes, any reason for non-attendance must be a valid reason.
As previously informed anyone who does not attend the night and hasn't given me a valid reason for not being able to collect their prize on the night, their voucher will be donated to the "Club Junior Fund".
If you are a winner and can't make the evening please let me know ASAP.
The club will be putting on a hot buffet for all members and their guests that attend the night at no extra cost.

In 2018, only January saw more rainfall in the UK than November. Not the happiest of stats to highlight, but one that shows the inevitability of being caught in a few downpours this month, making a waterproof and spacious bag vital if you want to tackle the unpredictable British weather. |
| Titleist Players 4 Plus StaDry Stand Bag | The name of this lightweight bag says all you need to know when it comes to its waterproof ability. Add in seam-sealed zippers to protect your personal belongings and six spacious pockets, and we think you'll be hard-pressed finding a better option.
|
| Titleist StaDry Cart Bag | Its big brother equivalent has the same waterproof fabric but in a more spacious cart option. We know plenty of you enjoy using an electric trolley out on the course, and we think this might well be the perfect bag to go with it. |
