Aston Wood Takes The Honours

A massive congratulations to Bill Bhagrath who tamed the Irish links to claim top prize.

A mixed group of Aston Wood members went to play in the 25th Dunmore East Golf Classic 2017, which was held from 24th-27th April 2017. It involved playing four rounds of golf on four different courses and Stableford scoring. The four courses were - Tramore Golf Club, Waterford Castle Golf Club, Dunmore East Golf Club and Faithlegg Golf Club.

There were nearly 250 men and ladies playing from all over. There were people from Ireland, UK and USA playing in this competition in teams of four.

The overall winner prize "The Charlie Boland Trophy" was won by our very own Bill Bhagrath with a fantastic total score of 148 (37, 38, 36, and 37).

Bill also won second prize at Waterford Castle Golf club.

Bill Collecting the winning Trophy, in his winning speech paid particular thanks to the coaching he had through the winter months, well done Bill and I will see you at the range next week.

The prizes don't stop there.

The overseas mixed team prize was won by the Aston Wood team, Chris Whitton, Nicky Whitton, Meena Bhagrath and Bill Bhagrath.

I think it is fair to say that the Aston Wood team came back with a lot of Waterford crystal and had a very successful week of golf. Well done everyone.
