AM AM

Sunday saw the Am Am take place and what a fantastic day we had.

The greenkeepers had done a great job setting the course up for the competition it looked stunning, the sun was shining and even though the wind picked up and blowing hard it didn't distract from some great golf.

Events like this don't just happen, so I would like to thank Ken Beilby and Albert Fletcher who manned the check in desk and made sure everyone knew what they were doing. I would also like to thank our Starters Alan Waldron and John Weare for getting everyone off on time. We had over 40 teams take part in the day and with the format being best three scores to count on every hole the scoring was very good.

Tom Derome, Yoni Abou, Tyrone Falconer and Gary Fowler who scored a very impressive 116 points (eight under par) here they are collecting the winning prize from our Captain's Chris and Ann Meadows.

• Second place - Mike Hickmott, Ben Jones, Jon Morris and Paul McConaghy - 113 points - Aston Wood Golf Club.
• Third place - Harvey Colebourne, Ashley Colebourne, Chris Preston and Steve Meachaan - 110 points - Cannock Park Golf Club.
• Fourth place - Matthew Betts, Mike Bird, D Van Stretten and Ben Venter - 109 points - Stonebridge Golf Club.
• Fifth place -Aaron Gordan, Dean Phillips, Jason Neale and Alex Bennett - 108 points - Penn Golf Club.

Can You Beat Me?

The presidents Cup will be played on Friday, 12 and Saturday, 13 May and on Saturday I will be doing " Beat The Pro" on the fifth hole. I will hit a shot to the green and if your ball is closer to the hole than mine (must be on the green) you win.

It's a £5 entry and if you win, you'll get £10 back.

All money raised from this will go to the presidents Charity. I look forward to seeing you on the tee box.
